A minimum of 3 hrs per day is charged when a 172 or 152 is rented for a full day or multiple days. On other aircraft please discuss with Summit directly your needs. Fuel purchased is reimbursed at a rate no higher than Summit’s current fuel prices. Prices do not include taxes on rental.

 

Aircraft Instruction Rates

Add flight instruction charges to the rental rates listed above.

        Flight instruction is not taxed.

Other Rates            

                           -    Flight Instruction:  $60/hr

-   Ground Instruction:  $60/hr

-   Pilot Services SEL:  $60/hr or $500/day max

-   Flight Instruction in non-Summit Aircraft - $60/hr

 

Pilot Certificates Estimated Costs

The following cost estimates are based on an estimate of ground hours billed and the minimum flight hours required. 

Prices do not include taxes where applicable.

 

We offer 2 options for beginners: “Sport” or “Private”

Sport Pilot Certificate                    

 (speak with instructor on limitations of sport pilot   certificate)

Est. Ground – 18 hours - $1,080

Course Materials- $325

Aircraft - J3 Cub or Ercoupe – ($89 per hour)

15 hours dual - $2,235

5 hours solo - $445

*Total - $4,085

 

Private Pilot Certificate

(for most this is the preferred certificate to earn)

Est. Ground - 20 hours - $1200

Course Materials- $325

Option 1 - Cessna 152 - ($110 per hour)

25 hours dual - $4,250

15 hours solo - $1650

*Total - $7,425      

  Or

Option 2 - Cessna 172  - ($140 per hour)

Tailwheel Endorsement

J3 Cub – ($89/hr) or Cessna 170 ($130/hr)

For the commercial certificate an applicant is required to have 120 total training time.

Certified Flight Instructor*
